Properties for Rent in Athens (Greece)
Passing the arrow over the left buttons provides you with detailed information regarding the areas in Athens. You want to rent a flat, rent a villa, rent a house in Athens… but where exactly? North? South? Central? This info will help you narrow down your decision.
The north suburbs of Athens is the area chosen for the proximity to the main foreign schools of Athens: St Catherine’s school, Campion school, ACS, ISA, Lycée Franco Héllenique.
The center of the north of Athens is Kifissia. Most of the finest shops and restaurants are in this area. You will as well find very nice and luxury apartments for rent in Kifissia. In the vicinity of Kifissia, the surrounding is very green and residential, and you will find a lot of houses with gardens for rent. Maroussi is the seat of many greek and international companies and has easy access to public transport and main highways as it is located next to Attiki Odos, Kifissias Avenue.
Areas such as Ekali, Drossia, and Dionysos are out of the center, but it’s here where you will find mostly big houses with green and quiet surroundings. From the center of Kifissia begins the line of “Ilektrikos” which goes to the center of Athens and Piraeus.
The neighboring areas of Agia Paraskevi and Vrilissia are closer to the French school, and close to the metro station "Doukissis Plakentias": In these areas it is possible to find a nice apartment at competitive rates.
South suburbs Glyfada – Voula - Vouliagmeni/Kavouri
There is plenty of property to let in Glyfada and Voula which are the leading residential areas of southern Athens. Many of the buildings are new and in good condition. You can find villas with or without swimming pool to rent as well as apartments of all sizes and many have good sea views. Rents vary depending on the age of the building and on the location (Ano Glyfada/Terpsithea/Argyroupoli are generally cheaper). A new tramway built from the centre of Athens makes traveling to and from the city much easier. Since 2013 a new metro line arrives to the gates of Glyfada, in Elliniko. Glyfada has the only golf course in Athens and, of course, you can find lots of private and public beaches where you can swim from May until October!
There is a major shopping area and every type of restaurant that you can think of. There is also an abundance of nightclubs on the sea front, although many only operate in the summer months.
The new ring-road "Attiki Odos" is quick and practical and makes access to the new airport and to the North of Athens particularly easy.
Living in the heart of Athens can be a real pleasure, it can be noisy but full of life and charm with its restaurants, bars, cinemas, museums and of course its shops. In the neighborhoods of Kolonaki, Hilton, Pangrati, Mets, or Rigilis you will find the nicest apartments for rent. Also, in Plaka, you will see some beautiful old houses for rent.
The buildings in the center of Athens are not always modern but there are some wonderful penthouse apartments available with huge verandas that often offer breathtaking views of Acropolis, Lycabetus hill or others historical monuments. In the center, you can easily find a furnished apartment for rent but mostly for minimum 6 months.
The area we call "Attica" includes the entire coastal part starting after Vouliagmeni passing through Cape Sounion and going back to Rafina, and Porto Rafti... You can find great opportunities of villas on large lots close to the sea, quiet and yet close to the capital.
